yea , well i hadn’t quite realized it but we did end up driving .. anyways i’m now in ottawa … went to this really nice place for dinner , and since carding is considered plain rude [which it most fucking certainly is] , well .. yes

anyways there have been a number of things that i have been meaning to blog about sometime but really haven’t gotten around to …. since i’m still too lazy to blog on them, you can find a lot of them (some might be interesting) at del.icio.us/jeeves .. if you’ve got some time to kill it might be worthwhile taking a quick glance

despite the ridiculous cold (actually relatively mild) of ottawa, it isn’t really half bad , quite a good number of really nice restaurants most of which are surprisingly reasonable … not to mention id-less bars and the like

last night, went to fatboy slim at 930 .. hadn’t quite been to a thing of that sort before, and it was pretty interesting and certainly entertaining … more than worth it since my scalped tickets were actually less than the official fare
;it was the late show (after interpol) and although doors were meant to open at 11, we didn’t get in until midnight and he wasn’t spinning until half past .. he definitely managed to work the crowd well and samples from blur (sing), white stripes (sevennationarmy) and franz ferdinand (takemeout) were pleasant surprises … we left around 2.44 because we couldn’t quite afford to miss the last train (which we ended up on) although would have loved to have stayed as the whole thing had been getting exponentially better since the clock struck two (when we had originally planned to leave)
his video guy had some pretty cool footage which he mixed very nicely along with some live footage … their lights were insane (and certainly excessive) with whole space frame components floating up and down during it all but definitely impressive
i certainly enjoyed it … also i was there with solomon (as well as jeremy and max) who i didn’t know was in town and i hadn’t seen in a long while, a Good Guy ™ so it was good to see him

i hear dc is going to be really nice this week (and there are plenty of parties i’m missing)
although i am jealous, it’s mostly because of the weather because i’m likely to drop by montreal later in the week and i’m very looking forward to the so many so great jazz bars around there (not to mention the few excellent ones around here)
